Let's start with current news and go from there. Not only is today Tax Day (and we get a refund for the first time in a long time), but it's the Third Anniversary of the day Keenan proposed to me! Time sure flies. And I'm still loving every minute.
To our great joy, we've had oodles of visitors so far this year. Since I last blogged, we've had Meredith, Keenan's Dad, and Julia! Here are some highlights:
Keenan's spectacular first Masters Recital!!
(Bach Toccata in G, Beethoven 81a,
Ravel Gaspard de la Nuit, Schumann Carnaval)

Samuel woke up for the end of the 3 1/2 hour trip.

What are the chances?

Waving goodbye.

We spent a few hours at the beautiful J. Paul Getty Museum, which was enjoyable. Keenan and Meredith both really know their art history, so I learn a lot from them. Speaking of Meredith, three people different people at three different times have told her she looks like a character from a Pre-Raphaelite painting, such as the one pictured below. What do you think?

Julia and I got a yummy pizza from D'Amore's and
ate it on the beach in Malibu while we watched the surfers.

Every horse race needs a decent frank.
Julia and I went and did a portion of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where we saw lots of famous people's stars on the sidewalk. We also saw the filming of a TV show (forgot which), Kodak Theater (Julia had to tell me why it's famous), and all sorts of strange characters.

We went back to Hollywood Blvd. the next day with Keenan to visit Ripley's Believe it or Not! Odditorium. We viewed such rarities as:

a two-headed lamb

a five-legged calf

Marilyn Monroe, made of 250,000 thrown-out $1 bills

Are you really still reading this? If you are, it must be that you're dying to see the Grand Finale:
I think this is my longest post to date, and hopefully, it will not be beat.

Hahahahah!! Samuel is so funny in that video. I love him. And you two! Come to Canada.
Nonie- Cindy said some REALLY nice things about you in my lesson this week... :)
That is some impressive using of his head! :) And so cute! He has grown so fast, I can't believe it. Looks like y'all are enjoying LA--what a different world from Texas, wow. :)
You're back! And he's big! Looks like life is lively as ever there. And way to go, Samuel! We love you, and we'll go to the horse race with you next time.
What a sweet video. You are such a great mom, and was that a vibrato canister you were tempting him with?
so fun!! looks like cali is a blast to live in. :) I want to go to a horse race sometime!! so fun!
I love the little army crawl. Ryan just started that in Utah. He's also doing the open-and-close-my-hands thing that Samuel did at the start of the video--ALL DAY LONG!
Thanks for the update. It is good to read up on how you are doing. Sam is growing so big. And is soo cute! What an eventful place to live. Take care Alena
Oh, I can't believe he's creeping around already! He is so darling, I just wanna snuggle him.
And I would have loved to hear Keenan play.
And Shotakovich 5 must have been amazing. That piece takes my breath away (especially when I play it- seriously I almost pass out).
Love the fig tree picture.
SO jealous of the whales and dolphins- that must have been so awesome!
I love your blog postings, your pictures are so fun, and I feel like I know what's going on in your life now.
Yay!
Ha! I laughed out loud at Sam's "happy hands" as soon as he saw his mama.
Good Update lady! Keep 'em comin'!
Wow, how have you had time for anything else? You guys have had more visitors in the few months there then we have had in the almost 8 years of living away from family. I hope it is a location thing and not a love thing.
I love the new look of your blog.
Looks like you have all been having a lot of fun! Great photos and thanks for the video of cute Samuel. :)
